These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MyCostBase. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
If you use MyCostBase on behalf of another person or household, you confirm you have authority to manage the relevant records and exported reports.
1. Service scope
MyCostBase provides software for recording, reviewing, reconciling, and exporting adjusted cost base and capital gains information for taxable investment accounts.
MyCostBase helps you organize and calculate the ledger, but you remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the source records you provide.
2. Accounts and security
You are responsible for:
- keeping account credentials and API keys secure;
- reviewing imported data for completeness and accuracy;
- rotating keys if exposed;
- limiting access to authorized users;
- activity under your account.
3. Imported data and third-party records
If you import broker files, issuer tax information, or other third-party records:
- you confirm you have rights to use the source data;
- you remain responsible for verifying that the imported records are complete and accurate.
We may restrict configurations or access that create abuse, security, or operational risk.
4. Usage limits and quotas
Plan limits are enforced per billing period and may include quotas, rate limits, project limits, and add-on limits.
Unused quota does not roll over unless explicitly stated in your plan.
5. Billing
- Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until canceled.
- Plan upgrades may apply immediately.
- Plan downgrades typically take effect next billing cycle.
- Taxes may apply based on your jurisdiction.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use MyCostBase to:
- upload unlawful or deceptive content;
- misuse the service to store or distribute harmful code;
- attempt to bypass plan or security controls;
- interfere with service operation.
We may block or restrict activity that creates abuse, compliance, or operational risk.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- you violate these Terms;
- your usage creates legal, security, or operational risk;
- required fees are unpaid.
You may stop using the service at any time. Cancellation effects follow your active billing cycle.
8. Privacy
Your use of MyCostBase is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that every imported record or user-supplied adjustment is correct by default.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, MyCostBase is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
